The Beauty Secret EVERY Woman Should Know {+ blogiversary Simone-France GIVEAWAY -CLOSED}

on August 5, 2013

I have struggled all my life with my skin. As is usual, I started breaking out in middle school – it got so bad that at one point I did see a dermatologist and was prescribed good ol’ “Retin A” to help me combat the issue. I battled the acne for a long time – at least it sure felt that way to me! But, eventually, nature took its course and everything evened out – I still break out, but typically it’s only a few here and there. In my mind, however, the aftermath of the “Acne Battle” remained, and I’ve always not been in love with my skin – the size of the pores, the dry/oiliness, or the overall look of it.

A few months ago, I started to read some amazing information and accounts of people who were using a product line from Simone France. I was immediately intrigued, as their skincare line was receiving RAVE reviews!! I contacted the company – and soon after I was in contact with Penny, who was happy to send me a sample. Penny was so wonderful, and we had several conversations about what product would be the best for me to try out; she also urged me to take their free “What’s Right For You” skin survey (which I did! Try it out!) We decided on their famous “Sandwich Method: Your Daily Spa Facial” – and before I could blink my eyes, my products were on my doorstep!

According to the Simone France website, the Sandwich:

  • deep cleans pores and clears blackheads
  • Exfoliates dead skin
  • Brightens a dull complexion
  • Evens out skin tone
  • Redules and prevents fine lines
  • Firms skin
  • Boosts mosturizer performance
  • Balances oilness/dryness
  • Imparts a healthy, rosy glow every day

Sounds pretty sweet, right? The day I got it, I immediately started using the products!

The process goes like this:

  1. Apply light moisturizer all over your face
  2. Dot your face with the refining scrub, then wet your fingertips and gently massage the scrub into your face
  3. Lather up the soap and apply to face
  4. Utilize the signature cleaning cloths to remove products from your face, rinsing as necessary
  5. Splash face with warm water 15 times
  6. Splash with cool water 15 times
  7. Done

Friends, these products are AMAZING. If I could actually sing, I’d sing their praises.

After one use, I could already tell a difference – my skin was softer and it glowed. I couldn’t believe that I saw results that quickly.

Before & After pics (not sure why the color is so off in the first one. I swear, I don’t have jaundice!)

I have continued to use the Sandwich Method for an entire month now. Here’s what I’ve personally noticed:

  • Smaller pores
  • Brighter and more “glowy” skin
  • Less issues with oiliness and dryness
  • More even skin tone
  • Softer skin
  • Less fine lines.

Bottom line is this: I LOVE these products and I would use my OWN money to buy them!! In fact, I will once my samples are all done. The products are THAT good.

Here I am at 30 days of use!

Some other notes:

  • I love the moisturizer. It’s so light and not oily at all
  • I’ve used just the soap in the shower after my workouts to remove the sweat and dirt from my face
  • You could probably utilize a wash cloth instead of the signature cloths – you’d just have to be aware of frequently washing/changing it out for a new, clean one.
  • Yesterday, I went out with not a stitch of foundation on my face. That NEVER happens because I am so conscious of what my skin looks like.
  • I’m still wearing my BareMinerals foundation for work/going out – but I am using FAR less than I was before! And I honestly think it’s just for my own comfort!

    And here I am today!

I’ve been using the Sandwich Method once I get out of the shower – so that I could see what I was doing – and that did take some getting used to! Now that I have the process down, I’d say it takes me about 3-4 minutes. Also – I will NEVER be that highly coordinated model in the face wash commercials that can beautifully splash water on her face. I’ve been doing it for a month now and I make a total mess (and/or bash my face off the faucet) every day. The only other con is, of course, the price – but as I said, I think that these products are SO WORTH the cost! I’m still completely floored by the results. Plus, I’ve used mine for a month now, and haven’t really made a huge dent in the tubs of product (but my signature face cloths are gone). I’d really like to try their “evening routine” products next (or apparently an under eye treatment based on all these photos)! I am totally in love with Simone France’s skincare products thus far.

BUT WAIT. I HAVE SUPER GOOD NEWS FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!

Great review! I definitely need to check out these products. I’ve always struggled with hormonal acne but lately I’ve been thinking more about my skin tone and smoothness.

  2. Lesli says:

I love my Jergens face lotion that gives you a little bit of color and also has SPF!

  3. This stuff sounds great! My skin “problem” is that I have very sensitive skin. I don’t even wear foundation because it makes me breakout! Beauty product I can’t live without? A homemade, organic moisturizer I buy from a woman at the farmers’ market. It’s a miracle cream!

    • My fave skin care product(s) are currently Avon’s “moisture boost” day and night lotions – they’re perfectly moisturizing for the warmer months, and have kept my skin glowing 🙂

      • Brittany says:

Hmmmm… Never thought about different products for AM and night!

      • Oh goodness, it’s a must!! Your morning moisturizer should have SPF in it – minimal 15. You should also not use a scrub in the morning, as it causes redness that you don’t really want to show up to work with. Instead, a simple face wash is best. Night moisturizers usually are a little thicker, and have zero SPF. And I only ever use scrubs/exfoliants at night (or if I’m not going anywhere on a weekend day). My parents sell Avon – I’ve learned these things over time.

      • Brittany says:

Good to know!! Thanks for the info!! I haven’t had any difficulty with redness and the refining scrub!

      • Heh, then maybe it’s just my skin that has issues 🙂

  4. I’d probably I’d like the refining scrub and moisturizer. That’s great that the company sent you some of their product!

  5. Tj says:

Brightening, evening, toning and leaving you with an “ahh, it’s good” feeing about oneself is a wonderful way to begin and end the day!

  6. My skin problems have always been permanent dark circles under my eyes and dry/sensitive skin. I’m always trying new moisturizers from the organic section of the grocery store and I find the organic products work well with my sensitive skin, right now it’s Derma e radiant night creme from Shop Rite. I’m telling my mother to look into Simone France because she has problems with Rosacea… Thanks!

  7. Lori Clarke says:

I just finished my first 30 days with Simone France and have the same glowing results you do. I have lupus and my skin is ultra sensitive with redness and very dry. The redness has improved dramatically and my skin is no longer dry, but dewey. I have not yet tried the healing balm, but would like to. As you stated, the only con is the price and so far have only afforded the 30 day size, but saving pennies to buy full sizes. Though in the long run I think it will be cheaper compared to ALL the products I was buying before. The refining scrub is what I cannot live with out. I love how it makes me feel energized and clean!! Great review. Liked your facebook page as well!

    • Brittany says:

I’m so glad that you have seen similiar results, Lori! And I think you’re right about the cost outweighing the other numerous products that I was buying before too!! Do you use the sandwich method too?

https://twitter.com/kitkat11055 (tweeted) https://www.facebook.com/ReadRunRepeat (Liked) https://www.facebook.com/kitkat11055 (shared) I have large pores though I do not have a lot of acne issues and skin is loose, not tight. I have tried numerous products from soaps to creams to lotions to emulsions to toners, not even Oil of Olay, defnitely not Mary Kay products, Dove is out for sure… I get a rash or dry patches or the perfumes bother me in the products. I feel like there isn’t anything that can help my skin as I age along. I visited S. Korea and they have amazing products here not a lot of perfumes there is so many to choose from and Korean skin is very tight young looking but yet, still nothing seems to help me and my issues (I’m not Korean skin type) that I can find in my price range anyway. I would like to try this product if I can win. I am in S. Korea though now (am US Citizen) and maybe you would not ship here. But the product sounds worth trying. Thank you.

Leave me some love!
