A special day :)

on June 11, 2013

I’m BAAAAAAAAAAACK ๐Ÿ™‚ Did you miss me? We had such an incredible weekend in Rhode Island, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it … tomorrow ๐Ÿ™‚ Because I still have to upload pictures from the camera ๐Ÿ™‚ So you’ll just “have” to endure some randomness from me today!!

We came back from Rhode Island on sunday, but both P and I stayed home from work on Monday as well — I knew there would be no way that we’d be ready for the week ahead after getting home so late, and I have to use my personal days or I lose them! Monday was gloomy and dark and rainy (and so is today, actually!) — but it was filled with laundry, ironing, cleaning, and picking up my parents and brother from the airport. Even though we had the day off, we still ended up getting to bed late, and boy am I feeling it today!!

Late night + monday off + being on a mini-vacation = chaos. I’ve spent most of the morning attempting to get back into the groove of things, play catch-up at work, and attempt to figure out what day it is (NOT monday, btw)! Needless to say, I’ll be perfectly happy when the work day is done! I kinda have felt like I’ve been walking around in circles!

Before we left for Rhode Island, we did have a bit of a big day around these parts though….

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday!

Fiona turned 2!! Her actual birthday fell on friday (boy, did I feel like a crappy doggy mommy since we left on friday!), so we had to celebrate before we left. Complete with doggy-friendly carrot peanut butter cupcake and plain yogurt frosting and gifts!! yes, I am a crazy doggy mom! Fiona posed like a champ as we denied her access to her cake so that we could snap 8 milion pictures before we let her eat it up! I think she really enjoyed it … at the very least she gobbled it up!! Even though I halved the recipe, it still made 3 cupcakes, so i sliced the other ones and put them in the freezer — everyone should get to enjoy leftover birthday cake!!

She also opened her presents — she actually understands how this works and is pretty good at getting the paper off! ย She got more toys (because she totally needs more — she has her own basket in the living room – which is overflowing! I should really take a picture!)and some yummy beef treats. I think she had a pretty fun day ๐Ÿ™‚

Now I can eat it??

Hard to believe that my tiny baby puppy…

is 2 already! *sigh* They grow up so fast ๐Ÿ˜‰

I could most definitely write an entire post about how much I love being a dog mom … that kinda sounds a little pathetic re-reading it … but Fiona has brought so much joy to our little family … and gosh she makes us laugh!!

Reasons why I love being a doggy mama:

  • unconditional love
  • she is ALWAYS excited to see me
  • her excited little butt/tail wiggle
  • she is always ready for exercise – even if she doesn’t run with me ๐Ÿ˜‰
  • She makes us laugh
  • she’s brought us closer together – we worked together to train her, love her, figure out life with her; we take family walks in nicer weather, and we bond over her silly antics
  • She’s a great help when I need to clean up the kitchen ๐Ÿ™‚
  • She ignited my interest in therapy dogs
  • I can talk things out with her and she pretends to listen
  • She loves all people – and treats them nicely and usually shares her toys
  • she loves to bask in the sun with me
  • she is a great snuggler — when it’s cold
  • She is going to make a great character for a story some day
  • She plays hide and seek with P. and wrestlemania. and “chase me all day long”
  • and many more, but I’m sure you’ve heard enough ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m the crazy doggy lady. I’m okay with that.

Anyway, I hope your week is off to a great start. I’ll leave you with a little ocean picture to tease you ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Aww your dog is too cute! We aren’t allowed pets in our apartment otherwise I would definitely have a cat, so instead I have to live vicariously through other people with pets instead ๐Ÿ™‚

Leave me some love!
