A tale of fitness, books, food, and life in between

Thursday Thoughts

on February 21, 2013

Hello there friends — I’ve been away for a little while — can’t say that I’ve really been inspired to post about anything really exciting as of late. Plus, I’m on vacation from school this week, so I’ve been being kinda lazy! So, I thought that we play a little catch up today – list style,  of course.

– Last weekend I took a little trek out to the outlets in Manchester, VT with P and a couple of friends — it was cold, but we sure had fun! Plus, I scored some great deals — couple of new tops, some mother’s day gifts, and a new Coach bag (!!!!). By the time we were getting ready to leave, P and I were starving. We wanted to eat at Ponce – we always get our coffee there, but have never eaten there. Sadly, they were in between lunch and dinner hours. And there was no way I was going to make it another 2 hours before eating!! So, we discovered this little place called “Cilantro” – a little mexican place. Oh my word friends. Some of the best tacos I have ever eaten!! WHY have I never thought to squeeze fresh lime on my tacos?! Plus, they had margaritas in a bottle 🙂 SCORE! I actually attempted to re-create those tacos last night for dinner!! Image

– I’ve been working hard to lay low this week. Yesterday I did have 2 exciting appointments, one at the vets and one at the dentist … yay. I also worked out twice yesterday! Once in the AM and then P wanted to do a workout when he got home (I worked hard for my tacos!) I’ve been catching up on all my DVR shows! It just took me 30 minutes to check my work email — signs that working is NOT good for me 🙂Image– I’m having lunch with my Mom tomorrow – yay! We almost always try to have lunch together at the Olive Garden on my breaks for soup, salad, and breadsticks

– My dad’s birthday is next week, and we’re celebrating on Sunday as a family. Anyone have some amazing cake recipes? That’s always my job for birthdays 🙂

– I am so sick of this cold weather. I know that’s lame from a NYer, but seriously?? it took me all day to get warm yesterday! I wouldn’t even mind the temperature if the darn wind would just go away!! Tried to walk Fiona in the park on Monday and it started sleeting as soon as we got there! I ended with a freezing body and a muddy car!!

– speaking of cold, the “fight” for the electric blanket continues in this house — usually it’s just me and Fiona, but yesterday, Bella joined the party too. I lost.

– the NKOTB/ 98 degrees/ Boyz II Men concert is coming to Albany on August 1st. Who wants to be my date? That’s like my entire pre-teen years wrapped up in one night! Oh M Gee.

– I have a weird pain in the ball of my right foot — it started on Tuesday while I was running, and I’m not sure what’s going on. It’s kinda made working out a little challenging.

I hope that you are all having a good week thus far — catch me up — what’s going on with you all! Also, I’m flirting with the idea of starting a FB and twitter for the blog — what are your thoughts?

  1. ooh pain in the ball of your foot is not good, i would see a pt doctor or something. especially if it is hurting still

  2. I felt the same way about that tour coming to Detroit, my inner 12 year old was screaming! By the time I convinced myself and two other friends we needed to go…sold freaking out.

It always excites me when I find that someone else uses an electric blanket. Seriously, those things are amazing (I’m under mine right now).

I live in Maryland, and I know what you are saying about the cold. Yesterday was the worst. It’s almost the end of February. Where is spring already?

Your vacation sounds heavenly. I cannot wait for spring break at my college. I just want to veg out all day, and watch Gilmore Girls reruns. Is that too much to ask? 😛 Being a productive member of society sucks.

If you want to start a FB and Twitter for the blog, then I would go for it! It’s just another great way to bring traffic to your site. 🙂 Enjoy the rest of your time off.

Hi Sam!! I don’t think that I could live without my electric blanket during the winter — I am almost ALWAYS cold! I hope spring shows up soon — like yesterday! My vacation was awesome – I love Gilmore Girls — I wish they’d do a spin-off or something! I used to watch that all the time when I was in college! I enjoyed my little break, but am back to the grind today! Thank goodness for coffee!!

Have you ever watched Bunheads? It’s on ABC family, but it’s written by the same writer as Gilmore Girls. It’s actually pretty entertaining, and there a lot of old Gilmore Girls cast members.

I’ve caught that show a few times — I did notice that “Emily Gilmore” is on it! *~*Brittany*~*

  4. […] Anyway, I digress. Jodi Picout is coming to Manchester VT on thrusday to do a book talk on her new book – “Storyteller” — and tickets are only $33 for 2 seats, her new book, and she personalizes it, and will also sign anothr book as well. And I’m going!!!! P and I bought tickets are headed to Manchester after work — to say I’m freaking excited is an understatement!!!! I’m currently like a little kid waiting to see Santa — I cant even sit still! Is that sad? I’m such a bookworm! So, you know – that’s where I’ll be on Thursday. No sweat And maybe i can talk P into eating at Cilantro again!? […]

Leave me some love!
