Gobble Gobble ‘Til You Wobble…

on November 20, 2012

I apologize that I have once again seemed to abandon the blog… I’m really not sure where the heck the last 2 weeks have gone?!?! I have a memory like an elephant, but seriously, I feel like my life has been a total whirlwind… so, let’s play a little catch-up — in bulleted list form, of course!

  • Wicked was amazing. We had a nice dinner at the Water’s Edge…food was good, but nothing exceptional – I ate a corn risotto with scallops and P had a stuffed pork loin — P wouldn’t let me be “that person” who took pictures of my food in the restaraunt 🙂 We had amazing seats for Wicked, and I even had a small child sitting in front of me, so I could actually see 🙂 (oh, the joys of being “fun-sized!”) —  I did my best not to sing through the whole thing 😉 I was a little disappointed by some of the character’s voices… and if i’m perfectly honest, I’m always a little disappointed after I see Wicked, that as happy as it makes me, it can never capture the magic of the first time I saw it.

Best. Show. EVER.

  • I had my first “red cup” of the season!! Peppermint mocha = YUM – Pete surprised me and brought some home 🙂

deliciousness

  • On Saturday we headed over the Walmart to purchase some supplies to donate to the victims of Sandy — A local fire department held a drive, and they were actually able to fill 4 trailers FULL of all kinds of donations… talk about a full and happy heart!

    I just think he’s pretty cute 🙂

  • The weather was unbelievable amazing last weekend — 60’s and sunny — that’s unheard of in upstate NY in November – we trimmed all of our rose bushes back — which we’ve never done since we moved in! And we planted some bulbs for Spring — Fiona was very happy that we let her dig in the dirt!
  • The week was very full with work-related things — I’m doing my best to push 4 reports off my desk before Thanksgiving! P also had his wisdom teeth out, so that has made for an interesting couple of days. His face did not really swell, but I’ve still been referring to him as my “chipmunk”
  • Made some eggnog french toast over the weekend — that was delicious! I love having time to cook with P in the kitchen on the weekends — and now that I ate that I’m totally ready for the Christmas tree to go up!
  • ‘Tis the Season!

  • celebrated my mom’s birthday — I’m the official cake baker for birthdays – and this year I tried this pumpkin gingerbread cake!! It was pretty good – (I substituted applesauce for the oil, and used much less sugar for the frosting) – it was very moist, but didn’t have a very pumpkin-y taste — more like spicy carrot cake!
  • Did I tell you that we are hosting our very first Thanksgiving this year?!?!? I am SUPER excited, and of course,  anxious about the whole thing — Our menu is all planned, and we went food shopping on sunday (P.S. there were NO sweet potatoes — WTF?) … We are going to have 8 people for dinner 🙂 We both have to work on Wed, so i’m not sure how we are going to prep – but YAY! Our fridge and pantry are STUFFED — and I have some cute ideas to work on for table decor 🙂

don’t move anything or it all falls out!

These are geting turned into candles and placecards — hopefully, i’ll be able to show them off to you!

  • Just for cuteness sake – a Fiona picture — I was washing our bedding, and when I turned around after switching the laundry, this is where I found her!

SHE thinks she fits just fine!

  • And last but not least – as soon as I saw this idea I signed up — I had SO MUCH FUN with Linday’s last challenge in October and I really missed it when it was over — this time Elle and Lindsay have teamed up for the Elf4health challenge — I couldn’t sign up fast enough! And as of this morning there were already 215 participants! And they’ve made a FB group too! So cool! I can’t wait for it to start 🙂 You should join me and maybe I can be your Elf!!

I also signed up today for our Work’s secret santa as well – so lots going on in the upcoming weeks — oh, and weigh-in happened today for Biggest Loser — and I’m down in the lbs again!! YAY!

Sorry for the giant post & photo dump again! Happy Tuesday dear friends — an end is almost in sight!! I hope that you have an awesome day ❤

Hi Molly!! Welcome to my blog 🙂 — I loved Lindsay’s last challenge – originally I thought I might lose interest as the month went on, but I found myself thinking about how what picture I could take to meet the challenge every day – even my BF got in on the fun some days!! 🙂

      • Molly says:

That’s great! I’m definitely getting more & more excited for this challenge to start 🙂 I was looking at the daily challenges and some are them are so cool (not just exercise/fitness related, which I love). Good luck with it!

Leave me some love!
